Spotlight can trace its beginnings back to 1971 when Bonnie Baggan started teaching dance at a local elementary school. The popularity of the program resulted in an ever increasing number of students and several moves to larger facilities. This lead to the addition of our second teacher Lisa Hayes. Her addition allowed for a wider curriculum to be offered including classes for children ages 2 to 4. As the Spotlight family continued to grow additional teachers were hired, most of which were former students of Ms. Bonnie and Ms. Lisa.

Fast forward to 2011 when Spotlight Dance LLC was incorporated and re-opened in brand new facility located in Manassas, VA at Sudley Manor Square. Spotlight has taught dance to a very large number of students and it is not unusual to see 2nd and 3rd generation students joining the Spotlight family.

Ms. Bonnie started dancing as a young child in Baltimore, MD. Once she graduated from high school she started teaching her first students. Later she moved to Manassas and started what would become Spotlight Dance.

Ms. Lisa began dancing at a very young age taking classes from multiple dance studios in order to gain alternative perspectives on dance styles and teaching methodologies.

Spotlight Dance is committed to teaching both young and old dancers the love of dance. We would like to welcome you and invite you to Get Into The Spotlight.
